Day EIGHT: Wye to Canterbury

This section starts from Wye with a 1.6 mile walk back along the North Downs Way to where it branches off to Canterbury just west of Boughton Lees. The forecast is rain for most of the day and as the forecast was a true reflection there aren't many photos though the day was a gentle walk though rolling Kent countryside with apple orchards, hop gardens, oast houses and sweet chestnuts and included a rare deer sighting.

It is then 6 miles to the village of Chilham which would have made for a good stop with its tea shop. However, the thought of having to sit dripping in a steamy tea shop was not inviting and I continue. The point of taking to Canterbury arm of the walk was to see the cathedral but due to last minute COVID-19 accommodation changes I had a long walk in and out and as the cathedral sits in its own precinct and is open 10am to 4:30pm I did not get to see it.
